Lake Whitney

It's gonna be a bright bright sunshiny day ♥

We stayed at Lake Whitney State Park the weekend of March 24-27, 2012. This is a beautiful park. Big lots for tent and RV camping. There were beautiful bluebonnets everywhere! The park is super clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. We saw lots of amazing wildlife. The turkey's were everywhere. It was mating season so we were treated to a big show by the "Tom Turkeys" or "Gobblers". It was very cool to sit outside our RV and watch this big Tom Turkey try to befriend as many female hens as possible. He would puff up and spread his tail feathers and strut around shaking his feathers while grunting "gobble gobble" to attract the females. We also saw lots of deer and roadrunners. Late at night you could hear the coyotes howl in the distance.

For the kids there are parks with swings and beaches for them to swim.

Pets are welcome.

We highly recommend this park for everyone.

We'll be back!
